Hi, I’m Talia!
I’m a behavioural neuroscience major at the University of British Columbia, where I combine my love for science, design, and communication to create digital content that truly connects with audiences.
What sets me apart as a designer is my ability to turn complex topics into tailored, engaging, user-friendly products that resonates with diverse communities.
Feel free to contact me, I’d love to hear from you!

My Design Journey
I’ve been performing and storytelling for as long as I can remember—even dedicating half my school day in high school to a theater program. Through these experiences, I’ve cultivated a deep passion for expressing ideas through narratives and sharing my creations with others.
These are cards I made for a neuroanatomy project on reward/addiction pathways in the brain.
While pursuing a neuroscience degree, I got to merge two of my major interests: design and science. I got to learn all about experimental design, data organization, and effective communication. I’ve been able to apply this knowledge in my role at The HIVE UBC, where I transform complex scientific insights into visually engaging infographics.
I even got to take a few coding classes, where I discovered a love for coding and building my skills in HTML, CSS, Python, R, and C++. I have since applied these skills as a volunteer instructor with Canada Learning Code, and as a STEM camp leader.
Not only am I exploring in my classes, but I have also gained a lot of experience through my extracurriculars. I love being involved in various communities around campus and beyond.
As the Content Director for the AMS Muay Thai Club, an On-Camera Personality and Producer for the UBC Science Undergraduate Society, and a Content Creator for The Bright Doctor, I’ve reached over 1,000,000 viewers by creating dynamic, trend-driven content. I’ve learned how to tap into what draws people in, analyzing trends and crafting designs and narratives that are informative and impactful.
I’m currently the Creative Director for TEDxUBC, where I lead all creative decisions for the organization, including graphics, event experiences, and even designing the website myself. This role has taught me invaluable lessons about effective communication and how to bring together teams of creatives and academics to work in synergy.
Where I am now
I’m looking to take on my next adventure: pusuing a career in product design.
I’m proficient in design and prototyping tools like Figma, Adobe Fresco, Adobe Lightroom, and Canva. With strong skills in data visualization, statistical analysis, and user research methodologies, I’m excited to leverage these technical abilities to create experiences that inspire curiosity and make complex topics approachable.
I want to continue telling stories and creating designs with meaning.
